Opportunities

Internships
Learn more about pottery by participating in an internship at Smoke in the Mountains. The Intern Program is geared towards folks who would like some time on the wheel and would like to further their knowledge and skill while immersed in an established clay studio. Interns perform a wide variety of functions throughout the studio and can be required to do physical labor and heavy lifting. Contact Rob for availability and information.
Participate in a Wood Firing
Rob fires his traditional outdoor wood fire kiln about 4-5 times a year. We are always looking for volunteers to move wood, load/unload, make wadding, stoke the fire, and watch the temperature. If you are interested in participating in the next wood firing, contact Rob to find out what’s needed and when the next firing will happen.
Production Work
Are you already a potter? Inquire about production work! We always have handles to pull, logos to apply, and small vessels to throw.
